Divisions

Three areas of administrative work

Each division has a defined scope, clear intake standards, and a designated working group responsible for its outputs.

Civic archives

Civic documentation

Preservation and cataloguing of public records and community documentation, prepared under a shared metadata standard for future consultation.

Research

Institutional research support

Guidance on methods, source review, and reporting formats for researchers working with public institutions and civic partners.

Policy

Policy analysis

Neutral review of administrative proposals against published public criteria, with written summaries shared with participating institutions.

Review cycle

From proposal to evaluation

01

Initial proposal

Applicants submit a written outline describing scope, participating parties, and the public records the initiative will use.

02

Criteria review

A working group checks the proposal against the nonpartisan community standards and the division’s published eligibility criteria.

03

Milestone agreement

Approved initiatives agree on annual milestones and reporting dates, recorded in writing before work begins.

04

Oversight evaluation

Completed cycles are reviewed against their milestones, and the findings are published in the trust’s impact reporting.
